Ok, I got it
Great Whernside & Buckden Pike
One winters day we went up Pen y Ghent disappointed to find no snow worth talking about and yet we could see that the hills behind us were plastered
So a couple of days later the sun came out and we knew we just had to go - first to Great Whernside, with Buckden Pike over the valley looking a long way off
Once we'd got to the snow we soon reached the summit
It took rather longer to get off and cross the valley to ascend via the wartime Wellington crash memorial
And the summit of Buckden Pike seemed - was - still a long way off
Looking back at Great Whernside
But the worst bit was because we'd been using crampons we'd our stiff boots on, and the walk back to Kettlewell was hell on our feet.
